The dredging and environmental division is one of the six
business divisions in the CFE group, all in Belgium or abroad.
Dredging is the second historical trade of CFE, and this since
1930 with SGD (Société Générale de Dragage) that merged in 1974,
creating Dredging International.
The DEME group is specialized in:
- dredging and marine engineering:
canals and ports deepening, beaches reloading and extension,
digging of trenches, embankments, creation of islands and marine
engineering.
The following companies are represented here: Dredging
International, Baggerwerken De Cloedt, MEDCO, SIDRA, ISD, SDI.
- oil, gas and offshore activities:
hydraulic developments, rock fill of pipelines or cables, and
stabilization of protective barriers, nearshore activities (rock
drilling and foundations for jetties and mooring systems), offshore
(rock dumping, landfall development), farshore and geotechnical
studies of deep waters.
The following companies are represented here: Tideway and
GEOSEA.
- lifting heavy loads: refloating,
cleaning and removal of wrecks, lifting operations, installation
and removal of heavy loads from platforms.
This division is represented by Scaldis company (held 55% by
DEME).
- environmental activities: ground
drainage and decontamination, storage of polluted mud, treatment of
household and industrial waste, rehabilitation of lagoons, land,
fluvial areas and old industrial sites.
This division is represented by Ecoterres/DEC company (held 75% by
DEME).
- construction materials:
extraction and treatment of marine aggregates for
construction.
This division is represented by DBM, Europ' Agrégats, SKH
Seekiesanlage et OAM-DEME.
- deepsee mining : research and
extraction of deepsee raw materials.
This division is represented by oceanflORE.
- concessions: development and
management of wind turbine parks.
This division is represented by C-Power and Power@sea.
